Musician-actor Himesh Reshammiya filed for divorce from wife Komal at the Bandra family court yesterday. The couple was reportedly staying separately for the last few months. An extra-marital affair is rumoured to be the reason behind the singer seeking legal separation.
Down different roads Confirming the development, Himesh said, &ldquo;Sometimes in life, mutual respect becomes the most important, and giving due respect to our relationship, Komal and I have amicably decided to part ways... There is no problem whatsoever with this decision among us and our family as every member respects it. Yet, Komal is and will always remain a part of our family and I will always be a part of her family.&rdquo;
&ldquo;Himesh and I completely respect each other and are jointly going ahead with this decision to part ways, but mutual respect will always be there between us as I am a part of his family and will always be, and the same stands for him towards my family,&rdquo; Komal told mid-day.
Sources close the composer said the couple intends to co-parent their son Swayam.
Just friends? At this point, however, it is unclear if Himesh&rsquo;s involvement with television actress Sonia Kapoor, which was first reported in 2006, is the reason behind their divorce.
When Himesh and Sonia started seeing each other, he ensured that she was welcomed as a &ldquo;family friend&rdquo; by Komal, Swayam and his parents, Vipin and Madhu.
