Before the fire department's probe report was out, the police was investigating the case with a theory, which claimed that the fire first broke out in 1 Above. But, now after the report is out, they are going with the findings of the fire department. "The videos which surfaced after the incident indicated source of fire was at 1 Above, but the conclusion was based on preliminary inquiry. Now that we have the report, which clarifies everything," said a senior police officer.
Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), Deven Bharti, said, "There is no contradiction. We can't comment on the findings of the fire department. Since they have opined that fire started from Mojo, we have included the names of the concerned as accused." The cops had earlier booked Pathak, Tuli and others in a separate case for illegal extension and construction under MRTP Act. In their statements, they had claimed innocence. The three co-owners of 1 Above are still wanted accused in the case.
