On January 1, 2015, there was a massive buzz on social media when Satish Apte (58) posted a wedding snap along with his 20-year-old wife, Amruta (nee Lissa). Now all that Apte has left of his marriage is a few photographs and memories.

Amruta never returned to her husband after she left his home in March. With months having passed, Apte now claims that Amruta was forced to take this drastic step by her family members.
Family woes Apte claimed that Amruta&rsquo;s family members had an eye on his Thane property. He said that they even had an argument with him, when they were insisting that the 58-year-old transfer the property to their name.

&ldquo;My wife cannot take such a step as she is yet to mature mentally. Her sister and father always fought with me for property. Amruta had promised me that she would be back by the month of June. Her sister and father have brainwashed her and compelled (her) to take such a step.
She did not return till the said period and hence I lodged a missing person complaint with the police on June 30,&rdquo; Apte said. He revealed that after the January wedding, Amruta&rsquo;s elder sister Monika and her father had moved into his house.
&ldquo;Surprisingly, after our marriage, my wife&rsquo;s family members also moved into my house. Their only intention was to take possession of my house. We had a heated argument after which they left home and never returned,&rdquo; Satish claimed.
Apte claims that his wife&rsquo;s family also took away the household cooking cylinder. &ldquo;The family tried every possible way to harass me, as a result of which they also took away my cooking cylinder. I was not present at home at the time of the incident and hence could not do anything,&rdquo; he said.
Cop speak Officials from Naupada police station did not clarify the case details and claimed that the matter is still under investigation. &ldquo;We had sent a team to Nallasopara where Amruta&rsquo;s family was believed to be staying.

The family has informed us that they would present her before us by next week,&rdquo; said a senior Naupada police official. Police added that there was more to the case as the statement given by both the parties raised suspicion.
Not reachable Amruta&rsquo;s family could not be reached as Apte claimed that he does not have their contact details, and police officials refused to share any contact details.
At present, Apte spends a lonely time with his ailing, bedridden mother at his Thane residence. &ldquo;I feel that my wife will come back to me very soon and I am ready to accept her if she comes to stay back without her family,&rdquo; Apte said.
