The ordeal of the 19-year-old Manipuri woman, who is four months pregnant and lodged in a women’s shelter in Boisar, is far from over. She was arrested from a massage parlour in Borivli under the flesh trade charge in March. Her revision application was to be taken up yesterday by the Dindoshi sessions court, during which her release order was expected to be issued, but the court has been shut for vacation. The case will now be heard on June 6.
mid-day had highlighted the woman’s plight on May 21. Just two days after joining as a masseuse on March 29, the police raided the massage parlour she worked at for indulging in flesh trade and rescued many women. The 19-year-old wound up in a rehab home in Boisar. The court agreed to release her only in the care of her father and too in their village, in the presence of state welfare officials.
