A 40-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly molesting his daughter after the survivor confided in her schoolteacher that he had tried to rape her the night before. Shockingly, the 14-year-old, who was being abused by her father since June, had also complained to her mother, who refused to accept it and told her to remain quiet.

The Dahisar-resident studies in Std IX and her father works as an auto driver and has a part-time job in a private firm. According to officials from the MHB police station in Borivli, the girl’s father attempted to rape her several times and forced her to perform oral sex as well.
