A Mumbai Sessions court on Thursday sentenced an auto driver to life imprisonment, for raping a minor girl in May 2012. His accomplice has been sentenced to 10 years in prison. The two accused, identified as Sarvar Mohmmad Raza (30) and Hyder Ali Hasmi (30), were auto drivers.
In May 2012, the 14-year old girl, originally from Ujjain, had ran away from her home to Punjab, as she wanted to stay with her brother. However, she boarded the wrong train and landed up in Mumbai. At the Bandra Terminus, she was accosted by a woman who called herself Sunita. The woman made her work under her for over 10 days.
