A 50-year-old man from Girgaum was arrested on Friday for sexually harassing his 17-year-old daughter for more than a year. The first-year college student had filed a complaint against her father at the VP Road Police station.

According to police officials the accused, who owns a hotel that has been given on rent, stays in a chawl along with his daughter, son and wife at Girgaum. An officer from VP Road police station said, “The girl in her statement claimed that since April 2013, her father kept touching her private parts while sleeping next to her. In the month of May, frustrated over the constant sexual harassment, she complained to her mother, who confronted the accused instead of taking any harsh step.”
