The Waliv police have charged a 58-year-old with several acts of sexual assault following his wife&rsquo;s complaint that he had been abusing her with various vegetables since October 2014.
The woman has alleged that her husband used to abuse her with oiled cucumbers and other hard vegetables besides demanding unnatural sex.
The police said the man has gone into hiding following his wife&rsquo;s complaint. The wife is also alleging that her husband has now married a 22-year-old in West Bengal, where he is allegedly hiding.
She has told the police that the accused and her have three children aged between 20 and 22 years.
PSI Vimal Mali of Waliv police station said they have charged the man under Sections 377 (unnatural sex), 504 (insult), 232 (causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
&ldquo;The couple have three grown up children aged between 20 to 22, and now the wife says he has gone to West Bengal and gotten married to a 22-year-old a few weeks ago,&rdquo; said PSI Mali.
He added that the woman has been admitted to the hospital for medical tests and that the results are awaited.
&ldquo;We will search for the accused and arrest him as soon as he returns from West Bengal as he is unaware of the complaint,&rdquo; PSI Mali added.
