A 14-year-old girl was critically injured when a youth, her relative, allegedly shot at her for turning down his 'marriage' proposal in Kalwa town near Thane on Friday.

The incident occurred at a slum in Mahatma Phule Nagar, when the accused, identified as Kamalkant Saini, accosted the girl and insisted upon accepting his proposal, police said.
