According to the BMC, the pipe had leaked due to high pressure, leading to the road over it caving in with water pressure, and the entire area flooding with ankle-deep water within minutes.

On Friday, traffic cops faced heavy inconvenience as traffic had to be diverted for hours as work on the road proceeded. However, the issue was resolved by Sunday. “The flow of traffic is back to normal, without much delay. On Friday, we saw traffic crawling. We had to carefully manage and divert every vehicle, which caused a lot of ruckus at the junction. But BMC has repaired the road already… it is now back to normal.”
