Maharashtra recorded six Covid-19 cases on Sunday, four of which were reported from Mumbai and the other two from the Pune Municipal Corporation area.
According to the state Public Health Department, the current active cases across the state now stand at 119.

The overall trend suggests a gradual decline in Covid-19 cases in Maharashtra.
The health department said it continues to monitor influenza-like illness (ILI) and severe acute respiratory infection (SARI) patients through routine surveillance, under which Covid-19 testing is carried out.
Of the total cases registered so far in the state, Mumbai has accounted for the highest number of patients at 990. Monthly figures show a sharp rise in May and June, when 435 and 549 cases, respectively, were recorded.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had on Friday urged the citizens to remain cautious and seek medical advice if they experience any Covid-like or flu symptoms.
Meanwhile, the state has also registered 37 Covid-related deaths since January, with 36 of the patients suffering from comorbidities such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and hypertension. One death was attributed to a non-comorbid condition.
Health authorities have reiterated that public health facilities remain equipped for Covid testing and treatment, and have appealed to citizens not to panic. District and municipal-level officials have been instructed to maintain preparedness and ensure regular testing and genome sequencing of positive samples.
Early monsoon triggers sharp rise in vector-borne diseases across Maharashtra
The early onset of the monsoon has triggered a sharp spike in vector-borne diseases across Maharashtra, with the Pune-Mumbai belt witnessing a notable rise in malaria, dengue, and chikungunya cases. According to the state public health department, this year, over 7400 cases of these diseases have been reported by mid-June, although no deaths have been recorded so far.
Mumbai continues to top the urban chart, recording 2314 malaria cases, up from 1774 during the same period last year. It also reported 395 dengue cases and a dramatic surge in chikungunya infections from just 21 cases in 2024 to 119 cases this year till June 14.
