Design for the proposed Bandra Kurla&nbsp;Complex-2 (BKC-2) project, to be developed in the satellite&nbsp;town of Navi Mumbai, is expected to be finalised within six&nbsp;months, Cidco said today.
The project, coming up in Kharghar, will be spread over&nbsp;200 hectares, including around 80 hectares of central park and&nbsp;golf course. The actual corporate hub will be on 125 hectares&nbsp;of land.
"We have planned to develop a corporate sector hub on the&nbsp;lines of BKC in Mumbai. We call this project BKC-2 and we are&nbsp;in the design stage.
"We expect that in the next six months, we will be able to&nbsp;finalise it, following which we will plan the development,"&nbsp;City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco) Managing&nbsp;Director Sanjay Bhatia told reporters on the sidelines of&nbsp;Smart Cities Summit here.
He said its board has approved the proposal and Cidco will&nbsp;now seek government nod for higher floor space index (FSI).&nbsp;
"We expect an FSI of 3 for the development of this&nbsp;project. However, we will now send the proposal to the&nbsp;government," he said.&nbsp;
Explaining the development model, Bhatia said land parcels&nbsp;will be auctioned to corporates, like it was done in BKC&nbsp;Mumbai.&nbsp;
"We have decided to first give preference to public sector&nbsp;undertakings (PSUs) for allotment of land. Once we get a fixed&nbsp;price, we will then be able to auction the land to the private&nbsp;sector," he said.
Meanwhile, the Corporation is likely to invite financial&nbsp;bids or request for proposal (RFP) for the Rs 14,500 crore&nbsp;Navi Mumbai international airport by next month.&nbsp;
Four bidders had qualified, but one of them -- the&nbsp;consortium of Hiranandani Group and Zurich Airport -- was&nbsp;denied security clearance by the Union Home Ministry.&nbsp;
The three qualified bidders include GMR Group, the GVK&nbsp;Group's Mumbai International Airport, and Tata Realty-MIA&nbsp;Infrastructure consortium.&nbsp;
"We have approached the Maharashtra chief secretary-led&nbsp;project monitoring and implementation committee (PMIC) for&nbsp;approval to proceed with the financial bids.
"After its approval, we will go to the state Cabinet for&nbsp;clearance. We expect these nods to come within the next 15&nbsp;days and by next month, we will be able to invite RFPs," he&nbsp;said.
