Lok Sabha Elections 2024: 11 constituencies in Maharashtra sees 17.51 pc voter turnout by 11 am

Data released by authorities stated that Nandurbar, a tribal-dominated seat, had highest turnout of 22.12 per cent during Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

According to state electoral officials, as of 11 am on Monday, voter turnout was 17.51 per cent in 11 of Maharashtra's 48 constituencies where polling is now taking place in the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha Elections. Polling began at 7 am and will continue till 6 pm in the Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Raver, Jalna, Aurangabad, Maval, Pune, Shirur, Ahmednagar, Shirdi, and Beed constituencies, reported PTI. 


Per the report, the data released by authorities stated that Nandurbar, a tribal-dominated seat, had the highest turnout of 22.12 per cent, while Jalgaon had 16.89 per cent voting by 11 am. Other notable turnouts included Jalna (21.35 per cent), Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (19.53 per cent), and Raver (19.03 per cent). Meanwhile, Beed had a turnout of 16.62 per cent, Pune 16.16 per cent, Maval 14.87 per cent, Ahmednagar 14.74 per cent, Shirur 14.51 per cent, and Shirdi 18.91 per cent.


Union Minister Raosaheb Danve, BJP leader Pankaja Munde, and actor-turned-politician Amol Kolhe are among the leading candidates. A total of 298 candidates are running, with Beed having the most candidates (41), and Nandurbar having the fewest (11), the report added. 


The voter base totals 2.28 crore people, including 1.18 crore men, 1.09 crore women, and 1,272 third-gender voters. There are 23,284 voting stations throughout 11 constituencies, 83 of which are rated important. Polling is being done with 53,959 ballot units, 23,284 control units, and 23,284 VVPAT devices.

According to the PTI report, the officials said that among the 23,284 polling centres, 83 have been deemed critical. 

Key confrontations include BJP versus Congress in Jalna, Shiv Sena (UBT) versus Chief Minister Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena in Aurangabad, and NCP (SP) candidate Bajrang Sonavane vs. Union Minister Raosaheb Danve in their respective constituencies, the news agency report stated. 

According to the PTI report, NCP (SP) candidate Bajrang Sonavane, Union Minister Raosaheb Danve, AIMIM MP Imtiaz Jaleel and Leader of Opposition Ambadas Danve cast votes in their constituencies.

Voting in Phase 4 of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 in Maharashtra is being held for 11 seats of the 48 in the state, the second highest after 80 in Uttar Pradesh. The voting for 24 seats was completed during the first three phases of Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
