The Maharashtra government has approved the allocation of land in Igatpuri, a scenic hill town in Nashik district, for the development of a new film city, modelled on Mumbai’s renowned Goregaon Film City (Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari), reported the PTI.
The decision was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who holds the finance and planning portfolios. The meeting was also attended by Food and Civil Supplies Minister Chhagan Bhujbal and Information Technology and Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar.
