Maharashtra launches statewide crackdown on illegal passenger transport near MSRTC bus stations

The Maharashtra government has launched a statewide special drive against illegal passenger transport operating near MSRTC bus stations. From June 5 to 15, authorities will take strict action against unauthorised vehicles operating within a 200-metre radius of ST depots

The Maharashtra government on Saturday, June 6, launched a special statewide crackdown on illegal passenger transport operating in the vicinity of Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus stations. While issuing an official statement, the government highlighted that strict action will be taken against violators found within a 200-metre radius of State Transport (ST) depots.
Announcing the initiative, Maharashtra Transport Minister and MSRTC Chairman Pratap Sarnaik said, “A joint enforcement drive will be carried out across the state from June 5 to June 15, 2026, to curb unauthorised passenger transport and protect the interests of the state-run transport undertaking.”
