Mumbai: Pigs, stray dogs run amok near ONGC helibase

It has been over a month since the ONGNC first filed an online complaint on the BMC website about improper garbage disposal due the absence of garbage bins near its helibase, the issues is remains unresolved till date.

Speaking to mid-day, an ONGC officer said the first online complaint was registered on June 14 following which it received an assurance for the ward office that the issue would be resolved by June 19. However, nothing has been done till date. The officer added that the mounds of garage attract pigs and stray dogs, which could pose a danger to the operations at the aerodrome. He also said that accumulation of garbage near the helibase violates the aviation norms.
