Mumbai: BJP MLA Mihir Kotecha demands scrapping of Rs 550-crore GMLR contract over poor work, rising pollution in Mulund

BJP MLA Mihir Kotecha on Friday demanded that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) immediately cancel the Rs 550-crore contract awarded to S. P. Singla for the Goregaon–Mulund Link Road (GMLR) project, citing poor-quality work that has contributed to rising air pollution in Mulund.
Speaking to the media, Kotecha said last week Mulund’s Air Quality Index (AQI) spiked significantly, affecting residents’ health. “The dust, polluted air, and substandard work from this project are major contributors to the deteriorating AQI,” he said.
