Mumbai: BMC appoints 6 officers to ensure oxygen reaches COVID care facilities amid mounting cases

According to the BMC, of the 24 wards in the city, one coordinating officer will be in charge of four.

In order to maintain oxygen supply to the various hospitals treating COVID-19 patients in the city and ensure they don’t fall short, the BMC has appointed six coordinating officers. Their primary job will be to coordinate between oxygen suppliers, assistant commissioners of the 24 civic wards and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) so that oxygen reaches patients in time.
According to the BMC, of the 24 wards in the city, one coordinating officer will be in charge of four. They will have to ensure that oxygen is supplied in a timely manner by being in touch with all the three stakeholders.
