Mumbai ka dil sachme bahaut bada hai,” said Parwez Ali, as he broke down after seeing his mother safely come out of her surgery on Monday. “I truly thank each person who made whatever possible monetary contribution towards my mother’s treatment and will always pray for them and their families,” said the 12-year-old as he thanked mid-day for initiating the crowdfunding process two months ago in February.
Shabana, the mother of young Parwez Ali, has successfully undergone a critical surgery at Sion Hospital and is now on the road to recovery. The procedure, conducted on Monday, involved the disconnection of an internal fistula and reconstruction with an interposition flap. “This means that we have conducted the correction surgery for her rectum, bladder and vagina. We have removed all fistulas that had led to a change in the path for her stool and urine to pass,” said an additional associate professor, surgery department, Dr Vineet Kumar.
