Mumbai Crime: 19-year-old gets 5-year jail term for molesting minors

A Sessions Court on Thursday convicted a 19-year-old for molesting two minor neighbours. The convict, who worked as a labourer, was sentenced to five years of imprisonment under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (POCSO Act). The judgment was given by special POCSO court Judge S D Tulankar.
Three minor girls, friends, stay in a chawl at Shivaji Nagar, Govandi. They used to go to the convict’s place to watch TV. On December 18, 2012, around noon, two of them a six-year-old and a 10-year old were watching TV at his house. After sometime their other friend, a nine-year-old girl also joined them.
