In Mumbai, the collective lake levels in the seven reservoirs that supply drinking water to the city is now 99.33 per cent, as per the BMC data.
According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) data, on Thursday, the collective water stock in the seven reservoirs that supply drinking water to Mumbai is now at 14,47,363 million litre of water or 99.33 per cent.

The Modak Sagar lake, one of the seven lakes that supply water to Mumbai, started overflowing on July 27 at 10.52 pm, the civic body said. Earlier on July 20, the Tulsi lake overflowed following heavy rains in the city and suburbs.
Mumbai draws water from Tulsi, Tansa, Vihar, Bhatsa, Modak Sagar, Upper Vaitarna, and Middle Vaitarna.
As per the data shared by the civic body, the water level in Tansa is at 99.26 per cent. At Modak-Sagar, 99.99 per cent of water stock is available.

In Middle Vaitarna 97.51 per cent, Upper Vaitarna 99.36 per cent, Bhatsa 99.04 per cent, Vihar 100 per cent and Tulsi 100 per cent of useful water level is available.
Meanwhile, Mumbai and its suburbs are bracing for inclement weather, as the India Meteorological Department indicated that the city is expected to have overcast skies with the likelihood of rainfall and thundershowers. There is a possibility of heavy rainfall occurring at isolated locations in both Mumbai city and its surrounding suburbs.
A high tide is expected at 11:37 hours which is expected to reach a height of 4.71 meters. Following this, the city will experience a low tide at 17:49 hours, with the water level receding to a mere 0.36 meters. Looking ahead to September 30, 2023, another high tide is projected at 00:08 hours, peaking at 4.74 meters, and subsequently, a low tide is set for 05:58 hours with a depth of 0.61 meters.The recorded rainfall figures for the Mumbai Metropolitan region between 8 am yesterday (September 28, 2023) and 8 am today (September 29, 2023) exhibit noteworthy variations across the city.
The city center received a total of 9.59 mm of rainfall during this period while the eastern suburbs experienced a more substantial downpour, with a recorded rainfall of 25.15 mm. The western suburbs were not far behind, with 22.52 mm of precipitation.
