Mumbai local trains: 1.16 lakh season passes sold in four days

For now, only monthly tickets are sold to people who have completed 14 days after receiving the second dose; online verification of vax certificates has reduced queues at BMC booths

In the past four days since the local municipal bodies opened booths for verification of fully vaccinated citizens willing to travel by train and the subsequent development of an app, the railways has issued 1.16 lakh monthly season tickets, with Dombvli station on Central Railway and Borivli on Western Railway issuing the highest number of tickets.
As per statistics available with mid-day, between August 11 and August 14, a total of 78,997 monthly season tickets were issued on the Central Railway and 37,088 were sold by the Western Railway.
