Mumbai: No Covid-19 deaths in city for first time in 19 months

Mumbai last reported zero casualties on March 26, 2020; cases up slightly

For the first time in 19 months, not a single Covid-19 death was reported in Mumbai on Sunday. The city had last recorded zero deaths on March 26, 2020. The first Coronavirus patient died on March 17 last year. Meanwhile, the BMC confirmed 367 new cases, slightly higher than the tally registered on Saturday.

Mumbai had on Saturday recorded 333 cases. The test positivity rate (TPR) in the city registered a significant rise to 1.27 per cent, from 1 per cent the day before. The doubling rate improved a lot on Sunday and was recorded at 1,214 days. The recovery rate remained constant at 97 per cent, as 518 people recovered and were discharged across the city on Sunday.
