Mumbai: Over 4,000 healthcare workers vaccinated on Wednesday

The BMC has increased the capacity of the vaccination centres to complete administering the first of two doses of vaccine till February 14.

The BMC managed to vaccinate 4,839 healthcare workers in the city on Wednesday, which is 76 per cent of the daily target. The total number of persons who received the vaccines so far is now 58,623. The maximum number of vaccinations were done at Nair hospital followed by Ambedkar hospital in Kandivli. The JJ hospital vaccinated 40 people.

The BMC has increased the capacity of the vaccination centres to complete administering the first of  two doses of vaccine till February 14. Around 71,000 healthcare workers remain on the list, whom it has to cover in 10 days. There are 12 centres and BMC expected 6,380 healthcare workers to come for vaccination on Wednesday but only 4,839 people turned up.
