Light rain lashed several parts of Mumbai on Tuesday, offering brief respite from the prevailing humidity.

The showers led to minor disruptions in traffic movement across some areas of the city.

Meanwhile, an orange alert has been issued for Mumbai, warning of heavy rainfall expected to continue until 1 pm. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has urged residents to remain cautious as the downpour could lead to waterlogging, traffic disruptions, and potential delays in public transport services.

Authorities have been put on alert to manage emergency situations, and citizens are advised to avoid non-essential travel during this period. The alert comes amid a spell of scattered rains that have brought both relief from humidity and concerns over urban flooding in low-lying areas.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also issued a warning of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, heavy rainfall, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40–50 kmph at isolated locations across the city and suburbs.
