Mumbai registers less than 300 Covid-19 cases again

City reports a drop in fatalities too; Maharashtra sees 4,869 fresh infections and 90 fatalities

Mumbai saw 259 new Covid-19 cases on Monday, the lowest in the second wave, and deaths in a single digit. On July 26 also, cases had dipped below 300. As per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) report, nine deaths were reported in the city on Monday. The state saw 4,869 cases and 90 deaths.

The city’s test positivity rate also fell below 1 per cent for the second time in the second wave and was 0.96% on Monday. On July 29 the TPR was 0.96%, also the lowest in the second wave. After registering TPR above 2 last June 27, the city’s TPR had remained below 2.
