Mumbai Traffic Police on Saturday announced a temporary ban on heavy goods motor vehicles (HGMVs) using the General Cariappa Flyover connecting Borivali East and Borivali West ahead of its reconstruction.

The restriction comes after engineers reported that the 32-year-old flyover has weakened and could pose a safety risk.
