Mumbai, Thane and Palghar continue to reel under hot weather; IMD issues yellow alert for parts of Maharashtra, predicts heatwave

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday issued a yellow alert as for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and parts of Maharashtra, predicting hot weather and heatwave conditions in parts of state as the temperatures in some districts of state reached above 40 degrees Celsius.
According to a weather bulletin, the IMD stated that hot and humid conditions were very likely at isolated pockets in Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg on April 16.
