Shivaji Maharaj statue incident: MVA leaders gather at Hutatma Chowk, will hold protest march till Gateway of India

Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis said the agitation over the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue incident is political and neither MVA nor Congress respected the Maratha King. The Mumbai Police have tightened security across the city amid opposition Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi's (MVA) call for a protest march against the collapse of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's statue in Sindhudurg district. Leaders from MVA, which comprises the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) and Congress, began gathering at Hutatma Chowk on Sunday, September 1, around 10 am to hold a protest march till the Gateway of India.
