Three persons tried under stringent MCOCA and on the charge of attempting to murder police personnel on duty have been acquitted by a special court here on Saturday which gave them the benefit of the doubt observing that the prosecution has failed to prove the alleged crime.

They were also acquitted of the charge under section 353 (Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) by special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crimes Act (MCOCA) court judge Amit Shete.
