Third-party transportation of wet waste from large establishments banned, says BMC

The civic body specified that it is mandatory for such establishments to either process the waste on-site or hand it over to the municipal corporation

The transportation of wet waste from bulk waste-generating residential and commercial complexes through third-party agencies has been banned, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said on Tuesday, reported news agency PTI.

The civic body specified that it is mandatory for such establishments to either process the waste on-site or hand it over to the municipal corporation.

BMC stated that the establishments processing waste on their premises will be eligible for property tax rebates.
