Despite cop’s valiant effort, woman dies by suicide in Mumbai's Marine Drive as crowd looks on

The incident was reported at 7.30 pm on Monday, a police officer said on Tuesday. While the crowds remained onlookers, a traffic police constable, Suresh Bhikaji Gosavi, put his own life in peril and attempted to rescue the woman, whose identity has not been established yet

A 43-year-old woman died by suicide at Mumbai’s popular hangout spot Marine Drive, even as hundreds of people present there remained unfazed, with some recording the incident on their mobile phones, news agency PTI reported.
The incident was reported at 7.30 pm on Monday, a police officer said on Tuesday.
