On Saturday morning, the DB Marg police arrested a 39-year-old woman, Nimisha Shah, for allegedly cheating two diamond traders to the tune of Rs 1.5 crore. According to the police, last month, Shah and her husband, Rupesh Kumar, both residents of Nana Chowk, took diamonds worth Rs 21 lakh from Rajeev Ravi Beri, a diamond trader at Opera House, on the pretext of fetching him good returns and then fled with the booty. Following this incident, Beri filed a complaint. In order to divert the cops’ attention from the case, Shah registered a missing complaint of her husband at Gamdevi police station.
