The initiative forms part of the corporation’s efforts to mark International Women’s Day while showcasing the growing role of women in the city’s public transport system.
MMRC officials also noted that women are already playing an active role in the functioning of the Aqua Line. The corporation currently has 27 women train operators who are involved in running metro services on the underground corridor.
