Mumbai Rains LIVE Updates: Mumbai records rise in Malaria and Chikungunya cases

Mumbai is witnessing a worrying resurgence of Malaria cases, with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) reporting 824 more cases of the vector-borne disease between January and August 2025 compared to the number of cases reported during the same period last year. While 4,021 cases of Malaria were reported during these months in 2024, the same period this year has seen 4,825 cases. The city also witnessed a rise in Chikungunya cases in the same period. While 210 cases were reported during the said months in 2024, 328 cases were recorded in 2025: BMC
