A special court in Mumbai on Monday refused to grant bail to a civil court clerk arrested in a Rs 15 lakh bribery case after the prosecution argued probe was still on and his co-accused, a sessions judge, remains at large. Additional Sessions Judge at the civil court in Mazgaon, Aejazuddin Salauddin Kazi, has been named as a wanted accused in the case. (PTI)

Mumbai News LIVE Updates: Century-old building of crime branch to be razed
The iconic 117-year-old building of Mumbai Crime Branch, which witnessed the arrest of Lokmanya Tilak in the pre-Independence era and interrogation of terrorist Ajmal Kasab in modern times, besides several high-profile criminal investigations, will be demolished soon. The two-storey structure, located inside the Mumbai Police Commissioner`s Headquarters, has been deemed unsafe and beyond repair. It will be replaced by a modern six-storey building with the latest technology, officials said on Monday. (PTI)

Dismissed RPF constable Chetansinh Chaudhary, accused of shooting dead his senior colleague and three passengers on a moving express train in July 2023, on Monday requested bail, claiming he was suffering from "white matter disease" and "delusional disorder". Chaudhary, currently lodged in Thane Jail, moved the bail application through his advocates Amit Mishra and Pankaj Ghildiyal in the sessions court. (PTI)
