The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Monday concluded elections for the posts of five Ward Committee chairpersons for the 2026–2027 term. As per the officials, the elections were held for the L, M East, M West, N, and S and T ward committees out of the civic body’s total of 17 ward committees. The Maharashtra government on Monday revoked the provisional licence issued to some motorbike aggregators as they did not fulfil certain requirements, state transport minister Pratap Sarnaik said. Speaking in the legislative council, Sarnaik said the e-bike policy was to give employment to the sons of soils, adding that in states like Goa, tourist prefer bikes because it is cheaper for a single person rather than taking an autorickshaw or taxi.
