Mumbai’s 26 skywalks, built to provide safer pedestrian crossings, are facing questions over their usage, maintenance and accessibility. While the BMC has spent Rs 286.58 crore on the skywalks it constructed, many structures see limited footfall and commuters have raised concerns over steep staircases, non-functional escalators, lack of lifts, poor lighting, safety and maintenance. (Pics/Ashish Raje)
