IN PHOTOS: BMC completes Carnac bridge; inauguration awaited

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has successfully completed the reconstruction of the Carnac Bridge. Photos show the vital new flyover, which connects P D'Mello Road near Masjid Bunder Railway Station, now ready for use. Initially, it was closed for heavy vehicles in the year 2018 as it was dilapidated, and in 2022, the bridge was completely shut to traffic movements

As per the original plan, the Carnac Bridge was supposed to be completed by the end of 2024

The civic officials claim that the delay was due to various technical reasons, such as land acquisition and changes in design

The Carnac bridge is set to ease traffic woes in their respective areas

To ensure seamless traffic flow in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has undertaken the construction of various flyovers, railway overbridges, pedestrian bridges, and skywalks across the city
