Dr. Amit Saini, Additional Municipal Commissioner (East Suburbs), has directed that all necessary works be completed immediately before the onset of monsoon to prevent flooding and ensure smooth rain water flow in the area during the Mumbai monsoon

The civic body's statement said that Dr. Amit Saini, along with key officials, conducted a direct inspection of various locations in the Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, and Mulund (N, S, and T Wards) areas on Monday

The visit was followed by a review meeting held at the N Ward office in the eastern suburbs of the city

"The focus of the inspection was on pre-monsoon preparations, including cleaning and maintenance of drainage systems, and addressing areas prone to waterlogging and monsoon-related diseases," the statement said

It said that under the guidance of BMC Commissioner and Administrator Bhushan Gagrani, silt removal from rivers and streams across Mumbai has gained significant momentum.
