IN PHOTOS: Container freight train wagons uncouple near Maharashtra's Palghar

A container freight train carrying cargo from JNPT experienced a minor operational incident after a few wagons uncoupled between New Saphale and New Kharbav stations on Friday. Railway engineers restored the train within 12 minutes after safety checks, with no injuries, damage or disruption to freight operations (Pics/Special arrangement)


According to railway officials, a few wagons of Container Train No. CON/JNPT 60539 got uncoupled while the train was passing through the section at around 10:28 am on Friday

Following the incident, a technical team was immediately dispatched to the site, where the uncoupled wagons were re-coupled and necessary safety inspections were carried out

Railway officials said that the train was declared fit to operate and resumed its journey by 10:40 am. The entire restoration process was completed within 12 minutes

Officials further confirmed that no damage was caused to the rolling stock or railway infrastructure during the incident. No injuries were reported

The freight train was transporting containers from Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPT), one of the country's busiest container ports
