Soon after Mumbai's iconic bridge closure, signboards were installed at the Shiv Sena Bhavan signal by the Traffic Police and MMRDA.
Traffic Police and MMRDA also placed a ‘Bridge Closed’ board at Lower Parel signal, just a few kilometres away from the Elphinstone Bridge.
To make sure that commuters do not have to face the hassle, closure boards were also installed at the Elphinstone Bridge signal leading towards Curry Road Bridge by the Traffic Police and MMRDA.
A ‘Bridge Closed’ board was displayed at Bharatmata signal for Elphinstone Bridge by the Traffic Police and MMRDA.
While the residents term it a tragic move, pointing out that the Elphinstone Bridge remains smooth and functional despite the closure notice.
However, soon after the outrage caused by the residents, the ‘Bridge Closed’ board was later removed from the signals, raising questions over the abrupt decision.
