On Wednesday, mid-day.com had reported that MHADA has begun searching for rehabilitation options within a 5-km radius for 83 families currently living in Haaji Noorani and Lakshmi Nivas — the two most severely affected structures in the area. PIC/ASHISH RAJE

According to MHADA officials, suitable transit accommodations are being identified close to the existing locality to ensure minimal displacement and disruption. PIC/ASHISH RAJE

“We are moving fast with the process now. Houses will be allotted according to residents’ existing carpet areas. Since every location has a different configuration, we’ll match the transit flat’s carpet area to its current one.
