According to initial reports, the blaze erupted at Annex Mall located near the Western Express Highway (WEH)

Soon after the fire was reported, officials from the Mumbai Fire Brigade rushed to the location and began firefighting operations

Police and civic officials also reached the spot to assist in crowd control and safety measures around the shopping centre

"The fire broke out at Annex Mall at around 2 pm on Friday. Officials from the Mumbai Fire Brigade rushed to the spot with eight fire tenders to control the blaze. One person who was trapped inside a gym in the mall was safely rescued by the fire brigade. No casualties have been reported in the incident so far," an official said
