Gauri Aagman is observed during Ganeshotsav, with devotees welcoming Goddess Gauri into their homes and offering prayers

Gauri, regarded as Goddess Parvati and the mother of Lord Ganesha, is welcomed into homes during the Ganeshotsav period and worshipped as a symbol of prosperity and well-being

Shopkeepers have been busy arranging Gauri masks, idols and decorative ensembles for devotees preparing to welcome the goddess into their homes

At Hiramani Market in Lalbaug, shopkeepers are preparing Gauri idols and traditional decorative items ahead of the celebrations

The market is well known for its wide collection of Gauri masks, or mukhavate, including both standard and standing varieties

According to religious beliefs, the arrival of Gauri is regarded as the visit of Goddess Mahalakshmi, who is believed to bless families with prosperity and financial stability

Devotees begin by preparing a special Gauri altar at home, adorning it with flowers, lights and traditional artefacts
