The incident was reported at 2:02 am on August 3, 2025. The structure is identified as the Madanpura Post Office Building.
Initially, the rear portions of the first and third floors had collapsed. However, by 11:36 am on August 4, officials confirmed that the entire building had given way.
Emergency response teams, including personnel from the Mumbai Fire Brigade, Mumbai Police, MHADA, and BMC ward staff, along with an 108 ambulance, were quickly mobilised to the site.
The civic officials said that four houses were declared dangerous and evacuated as a precautionary measure after a house wall located adjoining them collapsed in the early hours of July 28 in Thane city.
