The action was carried out after MNS Palghar district president Avinash Jadhav and Vasai-based MNS leader Prashant Khambe issued instructions to their workers
The party has warned that similar action will continue if such signboards are not removed, and has urged the local administration to take cognisance of the issue
The MNS had earlier launched an agitation against English signboards in Mumbai and Thane, pointing out that as per state regulations, it is mandatory for businesses operating in Maharashtra to display signboards in Marathi in prominent font, irrespective of any other language used
