The buses stationed at the depot reach the designated passenger pick-up points. From there, they will carry passengers travelling to different parts of Maharashtra

The special services are expected to help people manage the increased demand for public transport during the festive period

Sarnaik had earlier said that the corporation had made extensive arrangements to ensure smooth travel for devotees returning to their native places for Ganeshotsav

He had said MSRTC would operate the additional buses on various Konkan routes without considering profit or loss, as the festival holds special significance for people from the region.

Passengers can book seats for the special buses through the official MSRTC website and the MSRTC Bus Reservation mobile application. Reservations will also be available at bus stations across the state

Additional buses will also operate from major bus stations in other parts of Mumbai, Thane and Palghar

MSRTC said senior officers and staff would be deployed round the clock at key bus stations during the festival period

A large number of people from Konkan and western Maharashtra traditionally return to their native villages for Ganeshotsav
