The 24-foot idol is the centrepiece of the Chinchpokli Sarvajanik Utsav Mandal's Ganeshotsav celebrations

The mandal, established in 1920, is among Mumbai's well-known Ganesh mandals and attracts thousands of devotees during the festival

Devotees gathered in large numbers in Mumbai on Thursday to catch the first glimpse of Chinchpokli Cha Chintamani ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi 2026

The much-awaited first look of the iconic Ganpati idol drew crowds eager to see this year's elaborate design

The first look comes weeks after Chinchpokli Cha Chintamani's aagman procession was held in August. The idol had left the Parel Central Railway Workshop during the grand aagman, drawing huge crowds of devotees along the route

Friday's first look offered devotees a closer look at the idol ahead of the main Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations

The idol has been designed around a Tirupati Balaji-inspired theme this year

Ganesh Chaturthi will be held from September 14 to 25

The idol is seated on a grand singhasan (throne), giving the idol a distinctive appearance while retaining the traditional grandeur associated with Chinchpokli's Chintamani.
