For Wednesday and Thursday, IMD has issued a yellow alert for the city, warning of heavy rainfall at isolated places, along with occassional strong winds reaching 50-60 kilometre per hour (kmph)

Along with Mumbai, the nearby districts of Thane, Palghar, and Raigad were also placed under an orange alert on Tuesday

In the 24-hour period ending 8 am on Tuesday, Mumbai City recorded 36.67 mm of average rainfall, while the eastern and western suburbs received 45.01 mm and 28.40 mm, respectively

July's rainfall has helped the total water stock in the seven lakes supplying drinking water to Mumbai reach 8,35,919 million litres (ML), or 57.75 per cent of their total live storage capacity, according to the Hydraulic Engineer's Department, BMC, in its report released at 6 am on Tuesday

Among the seven lakes, Bhatsa registered the highest rise in water level over the past 24 hours, increasing by 1.38 metres. The reservoir now holds 3,73,983 ML, or 52.16 per cent of its live storage capacity. Bhatsa also received 100 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours, taking its cumulative rainfall to 1,415 mm

Mumbai recorded minimum and maximum temperatures of 24 degrees Celsius and 31 degrees Celsius, respectively, on Tuesday.
